Happy Holidays Everyone
Christmas snuck up on me this year, like a ninja in snow camo. I sort of bucked corporate Christmas this year and didn’t buy much, the potlucks all felt more like just parties (good times with good friends, they just didn’t feel like Christmas persay), and I Worked right up ‘til Christmas eve… This season has frustrated me a lot in the past couple of years because I have this image built up in my head of what it “should be”, but the true spirit of that…well it’s overlooked with all the busyness and obligations that seem to come with the season. I’ll find a way to change this one day.
On Christmas eve I headed to the King’s Head with some friends from work for lunch (we go every Friday) and when we went to clear our bills and go our separate ways the owner of the place said “Merry Christmas guys, this one’s on me” and paid our bills. Wow - now THAT’S Christmas spirit. And that’s the moment the holiday started for me this year. I left the pub with a big smile on my face and I’ve been trying to pay it forward since.
The past couple of days have been nice with the family, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I missed a few key people in my life. All my close friends who are out of town doing your own thing - I miss you and I hope you have a great holiday wherever you find yourselves.
On another note I now have a week off with next to no plans, anyone want to get into some trouble?
