When I rolled out of bed this morning I wasn’t too optimistic about today. But today was a good day. Not because of any one particular thing, but just a good day in general. Work went well (22 shifts left!), I got a lot accomplished on a personal project I’m working on, and my roommates rule.
Oh, I’m having a piece displayed in the Photo Central gallery! The gala’s opening night is Friday, November 28th at 6:30 and it’ll be set up until the end of January. Check it out!

Ever since the great DeviantArt abandoning of two years ago I haven’t posted any pictures publicly to the net. But let it be known that today (well…yesterday actually) I started up a Flickr account! I’ll slowly be adding some of my photos there. If you’re interested, check it out!

And I miss that place behind my house where I hiked and climbed and played, where I ditched this noisy century or just hid out from the decade. M-I homes thought it could stand to be updated, forced it all into a grid until it looked like the funny pages. With every trace of life, it seems, confined within a frame, the faces move from day to day but the strips all look the same. And the punch lines are resoundingly unfunny for those trapped in this architecture of easy money.
And I feel like this could all come to no good. The kids who populate these cul-de-sacs will never know what stood beneath those cookie cutter houses: fields and streams and woods. They’ll sit in cars and wait for mom to drive them out of this boring neighborhood.
